4010
I've been drawing a huge mural for the opening session of the 4010 Telekom Shop in Berlin about a year ago and it's recently been awarded by ADC, IF and Red Dot Design Award. The project has been curated by Mutabor
(Hamburg, Germany). Thanks again to everyone helping me those days.

I am Thomas
I was born in 1983 and grew up in the calm country-side of East Germany. Currently I am working and enjoying life in Berlin.
I studied Interaction Design, where I learned about programming and usability — but the quality of analogue techniques in print and illustration soon fascinated me more than digital attractions. It is something I am keen on working with, as it leads to experimental solutions and enables me to express contemporary ideas with the power of traditional means.
I've recently been working as an assistant in production for the swedish artist Nathalie Djurberg and Serge Seidlitz (London). Once again I experienced an exciting playground that allowed me to enhance my skills in handicraft and colour.
I am open for any new adventurous projects and experiences.

Paper and Ink, Drawing/Installation. Collaboration with Daniel Baumann and Daniel Gauggel.
We let a gloomy forest grow up on a tiny exhibition area. A scenery based on some odd fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm.
The trees, stars, creatures, the grass on the floor and even God in the sky were drawn on paper and cardboard with a dark, mysterious paint.
Back in the dark woods, there was a small TV set to introduce some movie work.

Back in 2005 we decided to build a christmas gift, far away from traditional shapes, but with the same amount of familiar kindness.
Created in one day, it took much more power to get it cut into the dark brown wood. The IKEA-like stick system adds some extra fun for the inner child.
Ejnar comes as a dozen pieces in a small screenprinted cardboard box.

It just takes a few minutes to cut out the figures and trees, inspired by the finnish woods and mysterious fairy tales.
Anyway this is more than just a card, rather some kind of a bewitched scenery.

Walldrawing at the
'4010' Telekom Store in Berlin-Mitte.
The aim of the new Telekom Concept Store is to offer young, urban products and services at street level — to provide a dialogue platform where community and shopping zone merge.
It is supposed to be more gallery than shop, more experience than sales. According to the concept I was asked to develop both an eight meter walldrawing and a couple of animations.

Doodle |ˈdoōdl| verb [ intrans. ]
scribble absentmindedly
White washed from top to bottom and with a specially commissioned doodle mural of the river Thames flowing across the walls, the Doodle Bar invites everyone to create a vision of the imagined city - a collage of doodler's hopes and fears.
"The waiters will be wearing white jeans and shirts," says Jules Cocke of filmmakers Squint/Opera, who along with illustrator Serge Seidlitz, came up with the idea for the bar. "You can doodle anywhere you want on their clothes. It's up to the waiters where they draw the line."

London Chessboxing
September 2009
If you've never heard of Chessboxing, it's basically alternate rounds of chess and boxing in a ring with a win determined either by knock out, check mate, or points.
This is the biggest chessboxing event yet in the UK with two of world's top performers battling it out for the European heavyweight title, plus a very lively undercard featuring Mexican mystery man, Hector Gomez.

Serge Seidlitz
Summer 2009
I just wanted to say a massive 'Thank you!' to Mr. Serge Seidlitz, who I've been spending with the entire Summer 2009 in London.
I've been helping out colouring a few of his drawings
(The Doodle Bar, British Airways, Raiffeisen Bank, First Bank Colorado, Estrella, e.g.) and mostly built the engine for his and my website.
He has been a fantastic boss, friend, teacher and guru to me — and it's been an honour to work at his studio.
Besides he got an impressive list of clients and even more impressive work in his portfolio, so you shouldn't hesitate to have a look on his site:
http://www.sergeseidlitz.com
More memories to be uploaded soon.
May 2010
There's now a coloured version of the drawings i did for the exhibition at
18er Gold earlier this year.
Stay tuned for a fresh A1 poster print coming very soon.

Deutsche Telekom Laboratories
Deutsche Telekom
July 2010
One more fullsize mural for the german brand ›Deutsche Telekom‹.
It's located right next to the cafeteria of their innovation department
›T-Labs‹ in the 19th floor of the former Telefunken Tower above the roofs of Berlin.
It took me a couple of days to draw, line after line precisely with brush and paint in 4 different gray tones, black and the brands popular magenta.
The size is about 6 x 2.5 meters.
Thank you dear
Fabian Brunsing for the imagery and a nice documentary video (coming soon).
